Greece – A journey in photographs
Greece: Mythological
My first association with Greece was through a trip to Crete in either 1998 or 1999. An unexpected holiday which took me back in time to around 1375 BC when I visited Knossos Palace. With significant ties to Greek mythology, the story of Theseus and the Minotaur, the palace is well worth a visit. Not to mention Samaria Gorge which is a long walk but extremely worth it for those that like to get out more.
It wasn’t until 2015 that I had the opportunity go back to Greece. This time on a dedicated photographic excursion taking me from Athens to Lake Plastiras, Meteora on the World Heritage List and back into Athens.
Overall, a wonderful and hospitable country where I was made to feel at home by all those I met or stayed with. Culturally rich with some amazing geography. It will remain a place to return to and investigate further.
This album starts with images captured during my last photographic excursion to Greece and will be supplemented with others should other trips arise.
